4104, Friday, May 10, 2002: the end of an era, the ghetto's last stand.
(The last night any room in the Piper L Ghetto was inhabited by any of our ghettans.)
How to sneak reading material into a long, boring graduation ceremony:
1. When dressing, secure your literature under your robe.
2. When you want to read, reach into your sleeve and grab
the book. It may help to strike a gangsta pose.
3. Whip out your book and enjoy.
Problem: re-hiding the book is more difficult. You may have
to bring a newspaper or something disposable/abandonable.
They were neither the first nor the last of the ghettans to graduate,
but this still marked the end of an era.
